Dr. Douglas graduated from Drake University and received his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School. He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Illinois, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident during his final year. He authored numerous publications in professional journals and surgical textbooks. He completed a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at St. Louis University Medical Center and joined our practice in 1989.
Dr. Douglas is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
During his career, Dr. Douglas has served as a Clinical Instructor in surgery for the University of Illinois Surgical Residency Program and was elected and served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Hinsdale Hospital. In 2008, Dr. Douglas was recruited to the post of Medical Director of Surgical Services at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. He has been named "Top Doctor" by Chicago Magazine and is listed among "America's Top Surgeons" by the Consumers Research Council of America.
