Dr. Dillon graduated
from the College of William and Mary with honors. He went on to obtain his
medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his residency
training in General Surgery at the University of Illinois and Cook County
Hospitals. He completed a fellowship in General Vascular Surgery
at the University of Illinois.
Dr. Dillon took a two-year sabbatical from clinical training in surgery to serve as a National Institutes of Health post-doctoral research fellow. His research during these two years culminated in an invited lectureship in Hamburg, Germany, and several publications in peer-reviewed journals. In 1981, he was awarded the "Young Investigators Award in Shock Research" by the Shock Society.
Dr. DIllon was initially certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1984 and has been re-certified twice since. He became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 1986.
Dr. Dillon has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. Since October of 2000, he has served as the Medical Director of Surgical Services at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Dillon has been listed as a "Top Doctor" by Chicago Magazine and by Consumers Checkbook. He is committed to mission surgery and makes annual mission trips to Guatemala.
